NUTLEY, NJ - It’s not every day that you hear of lifelong Nutley residents packing up, selling their beloved home, and setting off on a cross-country journey in a 5th wheel trailer. But that’s exactly what Jill and Matt Kuczek have done, and it’s a story that embodies the spirit of chasing dreams, no matter how deep one’s roots may run.
Jill and Matt are true Nutley natives. Both grew up in town, attended Nutley High School, and even raised their two sons here, who also became NHS graduates. The Kuczeks have always been deeply connected to the Nutley community — in fact, Jill’s brother, Randy, owns the well-known D&L Body Shop on Washington Avenue, a business that’s been a cornerstone for many local families over the years.
After decades in Nutley, Matt recently made the decision to retire and take a leap into a new venture: attending RV inspector school. Meanwhile, Jill, who has built a successful career in IT, will continue her work remotely. Together, they’ve embraced a lifestyle that many only dream of — hitting the open road to explore the country, living life on their own terms.
The sale of their home at 72 Daily Street marked the start of this new chapter. According to their real estate agent, Zachary Sebek, it was a special experience to help such a well-loved family transition into this next phase of life. “Jill and Matt have been a joy to work with, and it’s truly inspiring to see them take this leap,” Sebek shared.
While they’ve left their physical home behind, Nutley will always hold a special place in their hearts. Although they may be traveling across state lines, they’re bringing a piece of Nutley with them wherever they go. The Kuczeks have even started documenting their adventures on Instagram under the handle @4rverhoneymooners — a fitting name for a couple embarking on a new kind of honeymoon, this time with their 5th wheel trailer and their trusty canine companion, affectionately known as the #prettiestgirlinalltheland.
