NUTLEY, NJ - Long-time Nutley native Zachary Gaviria balances his time as a real estate professional for The Zachary Sebek Group and continues to audition for acting roles.
Gaviria’s early passion for performing began at the age of five thanks to his background in drums, guitar, and harmonica, which paved the way to booking bar gigs and open mic nights in the Tri-State area.
Since then, he has been in Chevrolet, Mercedes Benz, AdoptUSKids, and Nathan’s Hot Dogs commercials. On television, he has appeared in CBS’ “FBI: Most Wanted” and HBO Max’s “Mare of Easttown” with Kate Winslet and Evan Peters. He was also in the 2023 film “Frankie Meets Jack” with Joey Lawrence.
Over the past seven years, Gaviria has shared his love for acting while juggling life as a real estate professional.
“Once those commercials stopped running, and the residuals were getting slim, I realized why I was not doing something else,” Gaviria playfully said. Although he has had an agent and manager based out of New York City since 16, Gaviria pursued real estate and obtained his license, saying that both careers compliment each other because of the schedule.

“I have seen all the work he has done online and Sebek is by far the most passionate, hard-working real estate professional I have ever met,” Gaviria said. “He has such good, positive energy and a phenomenal sense of humor. I am very glad I met with him because I believe we compliment each other's styles tremendously in this industry.”
Gaviria received the title “Thy Rental King” from his landlords after closing three rentals within a 24-hour period. “He [Sebek] thought it was a myth at first,” said Gaviria.
Gaviria’s day-to-day routine consists of “anything and everything” from meeting with buyers, showings, prepping listings, doing photo shoots, emails, and phone calls. Don’t let the real estate aspect fool you though. In the past few weeks, Gaviria has had three acting auditions.
“It’s just as competitive as real estate, but I love what I am doing in both acting and real estate,” Gaviria explained.
He believes the most underrated top feast in Nutley is the tuna melt, aka “The Melt” on the menu at Jim Dandy’s, and you must get it with disco fries. He prefers to top the meal off with an espresso martini down the street at Luna or The Hudson Rose. He states it is a method that cannot be beaten.
“I am doing exactly what I want to be doing. I genuinely love assisting people with the biggest transaction of their life, and I love being in acting projects, so I hope this is my life forever,” concluded Gaviria. Plus, his two cats named Dooku and Sidious are more than happy.
